Our Story
Mahanaïm Life Center
Mahanaïm Life Center is a project of the
Community of Bethel churches in Rwanda (CEBR)
aiming at offering services that reflect and uphold the values of the Kingdom of God. The word 'Mahanaim' is found in the Bible, in the book of Genesis; Chap 32: 1 - 2 It is a story of Jacob,
subsequently called Israel during his journey, from the house of his uncle Laban, back to his homeland in Canaan.
Jacob was deeply concerned about meeting his elder brother Esau, whom he believed was having a resentment
and might be wanting to kill him, because Jacob had taken the birthright of Esau, which had prompted Jacob to flee in the first place.
Along that journey, God showed Jacob also called Israel a vision of angels meeting him,
which comforted and brought joy to Jacob and he named that particular place “Mahanaïm” which means 'the Camp of God”; ‘an area where the presence of God was manifested’. Thus, the initiative was named “Mahanaim Life Center”,
embodying the idea that it will be a place where the presence of God and the values of His Kingdom would be manifested through the services available to our clients.
